CHILDREN OF BODOM Push Back Single Release Date
July 26, 2002Finland's CHILDREN OF BODOM, featuring SINERGY guitarist Alexi Laiho on guitar/vocals, have pushed back the tentative release date of their new single, "You're Better Off Dead", to August, most likely through Spinefarm Records. Also included on the CD will be the group's cover of THE RAMONES classic "Somebody Put Something In My Drink".
"People think that this single being late is the result of our laziness...," said keyboardist Janne Warman. "But no, our label contract matters have been a mess and we haven't been able to release the single because of that.
"We'll sign a new [record] deal right after [our appearance at Germany's] Wacken [festival] with an as-yet-undisclosed label [rumored to be Spinefarm—ed.]," Warman added. "I believe the single will be sent to the pressing plant as soon as the contract is valid, so it should be out in August."
Immediately after signing the new record deal, CHILDREN OF BODOM will enter Astia studio to begin recording their next full-length album, due out early next year.
"We'll spend about five weeks [recording and mixing], and the new album should be out in January or February," said the keyboardist. "We have about nine new songs ready to record [right now], and they're really heavy."
